Do the people in your church know what their relationship to your church is?
Do they know if it is..
- Having commitment issues
- Slipping away
- Getting kind of serious
Do the people in your church know what the relationship to your church is?
I believe that people cannot take a purposeful step towards greater partnership with church or towards greater separation from your church if they do not know where they stand. There was never a Point B that didn’t first have a Point A.
@@If you want to lead your people towards stepping into greater partnership with the church, there are 3 prerequisites. @@ Here’s the first one:
1. The Great Thing
That is, the Great Commission. That’s right, the great commission. That thing that hung on the banner of the church you grew up in. It’s still just as important as ever. It’s what Jesus launched His Church with.
@@Ask your church: Is your relationship to the church causing you to step into the world to help more and more people find and follow Christ?@@
If not, it might be time for them to step into a new reason. They might need a new reason for being in your church.
For too many people in our churches, they show up hoping and praying that Jesus would step more and more into their life. And I get why. Life comes with hurt, despair, fear, pain and much more. But Jesus cannot and will not step any more into our lives than He already has. On our worst day, He died for us. Jesus did not launch the Church for the purpose of stepping more and more into our lives. He launched the Church to commission us to step more and more into the lives of others.
Do the people of your church have a relationship to the Church that is causing them to step into the world to help more and more people find and follow Christ? It might be time to give them a new reason.
